Cannabis and CBD, In a Nutshell

I have been testing CBD Products, CBD oils also known as Cannabis. As with any purchase of any product you can always be duped so research is necessary especially with CBD products as the number of vendors are growing almost daily.

With CBD Stores the emerging market of the times, with stores popping seemingly on every corner, how is anyone to know what and where to buy. How effective the product is? How reliable is the product?

The basics

First the basics CBD or Cannabis is not the same as medical marijuana. Medical marijuana has high concentration of THC the component in marijuana that gets you high.

Whereas CBD products, while an extract of the Hemp plant and a component of Marijuana don’t have more than 0.03% of THC, not enough to have mind altering affect. Not enough that it can lead to addiction, or dependence.

CBD comes in three categories, Full Spectrum, Broad Spectrum, and Isolates. Simply put Full Spectrum has the highest concentration of CBD in the product, whereas Isolates have the least.

Generally, Broad Spectrum will have the highest concentration OF thc, no more than 0.03%, not enough to have any mind altering affect, however if you are concerned of passing drug test, it will show up.

On the other hand Isolates have the least concentration of CBD and accordingly generally have 0.0 percent THC. Accordingly, if drug tests are of concern this is the preferred method.

CBD comes as a oil, generally administered by placing several drops under the tongue. CBD also comes in buds where it can be smoked or vaped, or as a cream or topical product which rubbed into the skin of the affected area.

These products generally work only on the area the product is applied. The last is in trans-dermal form. As a Trans dermal Patch.

Bio-Availability

Breaking it down further, the difference in these methods is the bio-availability. The bio-availability is the measure of how much of the product is absorbed into the circulation of the blood stream.

Vaping and Transdermal have the highest rates of bioavailibity at over 50%, while sublingual oils have a 25 to 35% bio-availibility. Lastly the creams have the lowest abosrbtion rate at about 5%.

In a follow up post I will go into more in depth and detail. However before I leave you, below is a list of the most widely acclaimed CBD Brands across most websites. Click on each brand to be directed to their site and for more information on their products

All of these products can be used to alleviate symptoms of Pain, Anxiety, Diabetes and epilepsy disorders.
